Sian Ka’an

Where the sky is born

South of Tulum you can find the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka’an, the third largest protected area in Mexico! This 528,000 ha paradise has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It is a place where man and nature live in harmony. From the entrance of the reserve, we drive 50 km to the little fisherman’s village of Punta Allen.

Once in Punta Allen little speed boats take us through this paradise. We first set off to do some bird watching.

About 300 bird species call Sian Ka’an their home. Search for ospreys, frigate birds, ibis, herons, spoonbills and many more!

Always be aware of your surroundings, a crocodile may be peeking out of the mangroves. With a bit of luck, we can spot dolphins swimming around freely in the bay or observe a sea turtle coming up to take a breath!

Depending on the sea conditions, we will jump into the water to snorkel and observe the many fish and coral species.

Later our boat will anchor in the ‘piscinas naturales’ or natural swimming pools where you will have the chance to relax and to soak in all the beauty of this paradise.

A delicious lunch will be served in the town of Punta Allen. Those who want can order a lobster for an additional fee.

Come with us and enjoy a day far away from the noise and traffic of the city!
