You can decide which currency you pay in, but our fixed prices are in Mexican peso (private excursions) and U.S. dollar (group excursions). If you pay in euros or U.S. dollars, the price depends on the exchange rate used by Tuul Luna Ecotours or its partners. It is not possible to pay by bank card on the bus.
If you prefer not to take so much cash, you can also pay the total amount into our account at the latest one week before the trip. All this without any additional costs. When booking we will give you all our bank details.
Private excursion: If you cancel 48 hours before the excursion, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel the tour less than 24 hours in advance, there is no refund of the deposit, since at that time it is still difficult to fill these seats again and we already have to bear expenses of transportation, guide, etc.
Group excursion: there are no refunds unless the excursion is cancelled by us due to circumstances such as bad climate.
Please notify us via WhatsApp (+52 984 120 48 14) in case of a last minute cancellation.
Yes! The hotels in Cancun/Tulum are an hour’s drive away from most of the places we visit. An additional transportation cost will be charged depending on which excursion you book. We will inform you at the time of booking.
Keep in mind that the prices on the website are calculated from hotels located in Playa del carmen.
Yes! The hotels in Cancun are an hour away from most of the places we visit so there is an additional transport cost of 10 euros per person.
This transport cost applies to all excursions with the exception of: Contoy and Isla Mujeres, Whale shark.
Don’t worry, once you booked a tour, you will receive an email from us with all the necessary information!
For our private excursions, we wish to arrive at the archaeological sites around opening time. This is to avoid the large crowds of tourists and the afternoon heat. We are convinced that leaving earlier leads to a better appreciation of surroundings and also to nicer photos.
The pick-up time on a group excursion depends on the location of your hotel or residence and depends on the number of tour participants. Most pick-up times (the hour you are picked up by us at your hotel) are between 5:30 and 7:30 in the morning.
Private excursion: These excursions are just for you and your family or friends.
Group excursion: Depending on which excursion you book, the number of participants may be larger. Chichen Itza and Tulum are among the most visited attractions, there you can sometimes end up in a group of 50 people, especially then in high season.
ourse also following the Corona measures imposed by the Mexican government.
Mexico is a big country so don’t underestimate the distances. Most activities are easily an hour’s drive from Playa del carmen.
With a private excursion you have the advantage that you can drive directly from your hotel to the place of the activity.
With a group excursion, you often have to pick up other tourists first. Most hotels have a very long driveway because their location is on the beach. So be sure to add minimun another 40 minutes to an hour!
This can be taken care of. Please specify your diet when booking.
You can pay with GBP, USD, EURO and, of course, pesos everywhere here. All these currencies are accepted in the Riviera Maya, but not everywhere the exchange rate of the dollar is as good. Especially for cabs, we recommend pesos.
There are several exchange offices in the center of Playa del Carmen. To change money in a bank, you will invariably be asked for your passport.
If you wish to withdraw money, do so at the ATMs in the banks or in your hotel. It is best not to withdraw money from ATMs on the street to avoid card cloning.
Remember: CASH IS KING.
Biodegradable products are becoming more and more common. They are a must because the coral reef is deteriorating very quickly. Here in Mexico, you can find these products in most hotels or in the supermarket. Also, always wait at least an hour after applying sunscreen before going in the water.
Most excursions do not allow you to use sunscreen during the excursion itself. It is then best to protect yourself with UV resistant clothing.
Without a doubt with the local population. This way you help the people here and you also have less chance of taking something “made in China” home with you. The local stands are mainly found around the archaeological sites. You can negotiate a bit in most places, but don’t go too far, respect their work. They also have families to feed.
The sockets in the Riviera Maya are the same as in the rest of Mexico and the United States: 2 flat pins and with a voltage of 110 V. It is therefore necessary to bring an adapter for your electrical appliances.
