Contoy & Isla Mujeres

Island hopping

The Mexican territory comprises three thousand islands, two of them are located in the Cancun area … Visit them both!

After a light breakfast we start our adventure on a boat heading north. On the way we anchor in Ixlache (the starting point of the second largest reef in the world) for a splash among the corals *. We navigate a bit further and in no time, we moor in the Contoy National Park.

Imagine yourself on a bounty island and relax on the pearly white beach. Take part in a guided walk and find out more about the biodiversity. Discover, among other things, the nesting places of the frigate bird and see the hermit crabs crawl before your feet. In the meantime, the boat crew prepares a delicious “Tikin Xic” (fish in traditional Yucatec style), chicken in achiote (typical herb of the region), guacamole, salad, rice and seasonal fruit.

After the lunch buffet and some extra free time on the beach, we hop again on our boat towards “The island of the women”. Both islands are less than 9 km long, but there is a world of difference. When you set foot on Isla Mujeres, you immediately feel the Mexican vibe. Stroll through the center, explore the cemetery, negotiate for that sombrero, keep going for that brown sun tan or go for a delicious ice cream … It’s your holiday, you decide!
